Inspiration and learning from other artists; practice; a rediscovered devotion to shape, value, color, line, and narrative.
Creating art and stories for children and the child-at-heart.
Just about anything, though serious times bring out a stash of DS watercolors and W&N gouache on Strathmore CP board.
4 years at Cornish College, random sessions last 10 years. Looking for great group of folks, inspiration and learning from other artists, nearby location, inspiring models, sets, and poses.
Working on several children's picture book stories; always looking for other picture book illustrators and authors to share ideas, inspirations, and critique with.

Large top floor loft space in a remodled SODO brick building. Lots of room and plenty of easels and horses to choose from. The models are always top notch, and the progression of short to long poses always has me 'seeing' by the end of the session. The space is complete with couches and plenty of art books and figure-centric inspiration decorating the walls. The folks that attend are warm and supportive, the atmosphere is laid back with so many different styles and approaches to drawing - inspiring! And the group is always open to specific poses if there's a project you're working on. The models always comment how much they like the session and overall vibe, including Wyatt's wide mix of music. I rate this five out of five charcoal sticks. One tip: the building is north of Safeco Field so remember to check the game schedule and plan travel times/parking accordingly.
