My classes are geared toward general photography technique, not specific gear. And, since we always shoot tethered during workshops, you can take any class without owning any gear. We can even provide you with plenty of opportunity to shoot in our studio during artwalk and model shoot events. Plus, I think there's a lot of value in getting exposure and learning a bunch before you invest in your gear... you'll have a much better understanding of what gear will be suit your needs.

Save up and show up. Rember its not the equipment, its how you use it (OK good equipment does help but...). Lots of good deals on Ebay for used equipment 2 generations old but still excellent.

Welcome Dan. Stealing Sux. Stealing camera gear really sucks. Having your camera gear stolen sucks the most. I have been there (fortunately they did not get the exposed film). If you know your way around a Canon or a Nikon, bring a CF card to a meet up that I am signed up for and you can use one of my cameras.
